    Thank you for making this! Bought the same valve for $20 on Amazon and did it ourselves! The only thing is it took a long time to drain the water down…not sure why this was but just in case plan for about an hour start-to-finish. The actual valve replacement took 5 minutes.

    My motorized version consisted of me using one of the bars with a hook on the end, cutting off the end that turned into a hand Crank, and buying a cheap cordless drill that it's always attached to. To raise and lower the shade fast I just hook onto the mechanism up top and drill it up or down in seconds.

    Sometimes it’s what plumbers have on the truck. Most of the time it’s this… customers want to pay NOTHING. Even though they’re getting a service, they don’t want to pay for anything. So the plumber probably priced it to get the job and it was probably lower than what it should’ve been so he used what he had instead of wasting more time, gas and money for someone he wasn’t making a fair amount on.

    • @AmplifyDIY
      @AmplifyDIY 3 дні тому

      This is very true in general... but in this case, the plumbing company was contracted by the home builder. This builder is one of the largest in the city, and the typical neighborhood size that this builder puts up starts at around 300 homes. I happen to know that the plumbing company that contracted with the builder is also one of the largest in the city... so there are multiple factors here: the plumbing company easily knows how many homes they need to finish during any given week for this builder. They should be on top of sorting supplies for their trucks. As for rates: I can only guess, but I suspect the person actually doing the work has nothing to do with the negotiation of payment for the jobs.

    For context, I listened with a very good planar magnetic headphone and a dedicated headphone amp. There's a lot of nuances to be heard here. Each panel sounds different. My favorite are the original one and especially the dual driver ones. Both sounded amazing on their own and I think my preferred sound of all the combinations here are the dual driver without subwoofer. The sub was a bit too heavy and slow and definitely not at the quality level of the panel sound. You really makes me want to experiment myself now, because I wasn't expecting that level of reproduction from that cheap an investment. To hear the Klipsch after the panels was a shock. You made a great job with this video, and I shall thank you for that.

But I could not stand it if I saw a mouse. Pathetic, I know. I'm even debating about cleaning the inside of the dryer vent! What if I squish a dead mouse on that brush? Question: You stated that you turn on a faucet to reduce air in your lines. At what point do you close the faucet when you are draining the tank? While it is draining, or leave it open the whole time your draining your tank?

    • @AmplifyDIY
      @AmplifyDIY 4 дні тому

      You can just leave it open during the whole process if you like. The important times that it should be open are a) during the time you are draining the tank (to let air into the tank) and while you are re-filling it for the final time (to let air out of the tank.Good luck!

    I just got done power buffing my windows with barkeeper's friend. I watched this video because I had no success whatsoever with barkeeper's friend. Imagine my surprise to find out it was the best thing tested. In my experience, it is worthless. I applied it with distilled water as a kind of paste, spread it around, let it sit for a couple minutes, buffed with a power buffer, washed it off, dried it, just as many spots as when I started.

    • @AmplifyDIY
      @AmplifyDIY 6 днів тому

      Interesting - this may seem like a dumb question, but is there any chance the spots are on the *inside* of the glass? Also, there is a possibility that the glass is actually etched rather than full of deposits from hard water stains... The only solution I've ever seen work with etched windows is to use a cutting compound and DA polisher. Good luck!

  • @combatgirl38

    I accidentally flushed an infant "cradle cap" brush down the toilet with my disabled bearded dragon's bath water. This incredibly soft brush graduated from belonging to my daughter 20 years ago to being the perfect tool for gently cleaning the scales of the geriatric half blind and mostly disabled impossibly sweet little creature I unexpectedly found myself in care of. While I realize that the only thing worse than jamming a brush the size of a deck of cards into the workings of my toilet with the force of several gallons of water is much, Much better than throwing the 'baby' out with the bathwater - I have been so in fear of this project that I've been using the toilet in the empty apartment next door rather than trying to tackle it. -A new family just moved in next door. - While I've watched enough videos to have had a basic understanding of exactly what the project would entail, it's your professional and at ease deliverance that has taken me from my brain overpowering logic by clouding my logical thoughts with every single scenario that could possibly take place that could turn this into a disaster filled with lifetime regret to instead saying "Ah yes, I can absolutely do that and I have all of the tools needed to get it done quite successfully!" The main difference here is that I intend to replace it immediately after dislodging the offending object so I won't be removing the tank. I'm just hoping that everything connected to the waterline is still functioning but if it's not I'm sure I'll find what I need in the tool room of our 1912 basement. Thank you for being the one who has what it takes to kick the procrastination fueled by fear out of my system! I'm looking forward to being able to add this skill to the countless other strangely random things that I have taught myself over the last 50+ years!

    When I bought my house the first 2 years I couldn’t figure out why my half bath always smelled like sewer and I kept thinking it was coming from the toilet. I finally realized that there was no cocking around my toilet and once I sealed it, the odor was forever gone! Thank you so much for this amazing video.
